Abstract

This research investigated the macro environmental impacts of sustainable development practices within Timor-Leste’s coffee industry with an emphasis on smallholder coffee farmers in the highland region of Ermera. This study employed a quantitative descriptive research design with a structured and validated self-questionnaire administered to 376 coffee farmers in the region of Ermera. The instrument measured perceived economic-environmental impacts in terms of income stability, market access, production efficiency, and inadequate infrastructure, and measured perceived social-environmental impacts in terms of community empowerment, gender participation, access to training, and life well-being. This study formulated statistical tools such as frequency distribution, weighted mean, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and independent sample t-test to apply using SPSS to determine the differences in perception through demographic profiles
